Or, I guess I would say on some level, very few Americans see class as more complex than wealth and income. Stuff like accent or education matters, but if you speak nicely, went to Harvard, but make minimum wage, you're absolutely not considered middle class.

I honestly worried that there was a kind of... spirit, say, that was dead in most readers, because kids don't tend to grow up with poetry, even stuff they'd probably like like the Iliad. But it turns out it's latent in lots of kids!

I recognize this is probably usually incorrect. But I always find it... confusing? Like there must be a less stupid explanation.

This is soooooo gratifying to hear. We had a good rollout for that book, but it's mostly been word of mouth. I'm actually revising the second book text now, so this is especially encouraging :D
