I'm sorry today's been rough on you!

One thing that genuinely often helps me on difficult days is, completely unironically, a scene from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where she says, "Do you think you can make it through the next ten seconds?... And then you start on the next ten seconds." ❤️

Please wish Harvey Milkbone a happy gotcha day!

I brought him home from Austin Animal Center nine years ago today!

Here he is enjoying summertime!

Today is Harvey Milkbone's 11th birthday!

His ninth gotcha-versary is next month!

It's hard to believe it's been so long since he was adopted from @austinanimalcenter.bsky.social.

He loves making new human friends, running around, scarfing down whipped cream, and snuggling!

Say hi!

I saw this floating around the internet a while ago, and I realized I never did it.

Any time I do something new or challenging, my brain wants to say, "I'll take a whack at it!" entirely due to The Parent Trap (1998).

Today's hot chocolate has medium body with a base of soy milk and Belgian chocolate. It's substantial on its own but begged to be accompanied. Maybe with the shortbread from this weekend?

Luckily, Maverick picked up for me a surprise chocolate chip cookie while he was out running morning errands!

I'm a big fan of caramel turtles. Caramel or butterscotch, nuts/seeds/pretzels, and chocolate: that's my jam.

I had an idea: instead of making a true caramel with white sugar or a butterscotch with brown sugar, what about making a milk caramel with (get ready for it) piloncillo?

Gotta try this.

A colorful sight at any border state panadería, for sure, but this pink cake today is homemade.

The loss of Cecile Richards will be felt throughout Texas, in the abortion rights movement across America, and in the political spaces nationwide

Every time we'd meet, she'd galvanize me, encourage me, and lift my spirit!

A great Texan, a kind friend, a force of nature: an understatement of Cecile

"Lowercase" numbers are called text figures, and they have ascenders and descenders like lowercase letters! Check out the image below.

These → 0123456789 ← by contrast, are the "uppercase" lining figures, which have the same height as capital letters. 😊

Now that it's Monday, and I'm back in-office, here's my mini CR box! I add or replace tape as needed, but it's performed excellently for years!

It's probably due for a filter change; still, Iget pretty good airflow. I would put it on my desk if I had the room to do that.

For high-stress days with decision fatigue, we roll dice with food choices on them, flip a coin, or toss some rice into our tiny rice cooker and stir-fry whatever we have in the freezer.

Our default, though, is making breakfast tacos!

Simple and relatively quick; always tasty!

If I were running the United States Postal Service, I would create an annually changing birthday-themed stamp that is worth the two-ounce (56 g) price.

Why? So folks could send heavy "may require extra postage" birthday cards with a single stamp that's thematically relevant to celebrations.
