Judge: But that's not where we live (in a monarchy). We live in *response* to a monarchy.

Judge: Makes me think: can president declare vacancy that doesn't exist? If president finds a vacancy, there is a vacancy! If the president finds a rebellion, there is a rebellion! And I try to distinguish in my mind, how is this any different from what a monarchist does?

@crispinburke.bsky.social curious what your take is, and if you’re seeing any anecdotal trends of foreign intelligence recruiters on LinkedIn capitalizing on the sudden abundance of out of work government employees and ramping up their efforts at scale

Private sector hiring, especially tech, has normalized candidates doing free work as part of the interview process. Seriously concerned that with so many former gov workers now desperate for employment and unaccustomed to what’s in bounds for hiring, they may easily be duped by foreign adversaries

LinkedIn has already been a headhunting ground for foreign intelligence agencies looking to recruit US assets.

The last few days I’ve seen dozens of fake “recruiters” with “hiring opportunities” for gov workers, even necro-ing my own years old post about transitioning off an active duty assignment

Rewatched this the other week, in 480p. It’s not available with any streaming subscription right now, but it turns out the Internet Archive is weirdly and wonderfully hosting the entire film!

Let me guess, they’re looking to gas up on GenAI fuel?

This Reddit thread is an attempt to collate what little that still exists of Quaternia from that brief time www.reddit.com/r/lostmedia/...

Today there is almost no record left of what Quaternia was or looked like. That’s the nature of being an exclusive proprietary offline game at the turn of the millennium; it had almost zero digital footprint to begin with that could have been preserved.

Quaternia was a massively(ish) multiplayer shooter that was offline, and exclusive to a unique physical third space. But what hooked us the most was that it was persistent. The magnetic pay cards we used instead of quarters also kept track of our names and some concept of a score or rank in game
