Not surprisingly, a complaint was filed arguing Bloomberg/DNC circumvented campaign finance limits by doing this. Today, the FEC disclosed it dismissed the complaint 6-0. Here's the reasoning from five commissioners, who say the law is clear https://www.fec.gov/data/legal/matter-under-review/7722/
