“When I watched Italian football, it looked so exotic. There was sunshine, there were these foreign players with their long hair, and everything just looked different and exciting.”

Over the past two decades, Nikola Popović has plied his trade in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia as an assistant and head coach.

And today, he has Atlético-CP vying for promotion to Portugal’s second tier.

Would also like someone who has a deep background in Islam to explain why Sam Morsy feels comfortable wearing a gambling sponsor, something that is prohibited in the Quran, but doesn’t feel comfortable wearing a rainbow armband.

What a heartbreaking year for tennis.

One of these live commentary write-ups was written by a human.

One of them was (probably) written by AI.

The difference in quality…is abysmal.

Twitter in 2024: When you’re impersonating Cole Palmer and want to wish Edoardo Bove a speedy recovery from his life-threatening injury but first you’ve got to make sure you get your Stake ad revenue first.

Twitter in 2024: When a City fan falsely claims that Ederson conceded a penalty instead of Stefan Ortega, and you can’t tell if it’s because 1) they’re not watching the match or 2) they’re trying to purposefully drive up ad revenue by rage-baiting people.

As Vladimir Lenin once said, there are halves where seven goals happen, and there are halves where zero goals happen.

This has been the most challenging year of my life — physically, mentally, and emotionally — but still so much to be grateful for from 2024.

Wishing all of my followers a blessed Thanksgiving.

In 2028, I will vote for whichever presidential candidate campaigns on suing Stake for their incessant copyright theft.

People are literally putting Stake ads on their own dinner, the Wizard of Oz, stolen memes and anything else for an extra $0.60…when will it end?

Rúben Amorim made his much-anticipated Manchester United debut on Sunday, but he’s far from the only new manager in Europe’s top 5 leagues.

I wrote about the *other* new managers in Europe for @fotmob.

One great thing about Bluesky: Your followers’ accounts are probably not going to be hacked and then try to impersonate the company’s Help Account in order to hack your account.

(This is the fifth message I’ve gotten from “X Help” today.”

Gerard Martín put in this tackle on Iago Aspas WHILE already on a booking, and the only player who received a yellow was Aspas.

Little wonder that Hansi Flick replaced Martín at halftime…

Prior to this year, Jasmine Paolini had never made it past the second round of a major.

She ended it by reaching 3 Grand Slam Finals (2 in the same tournament), winning a gold medal & beating Slovakia in the last match of 2024 to claim the Billie Jean King Cup.

The undoubted breakout star of 2024.

Anybody who finds a way to get Electric Light Orchestra on here deserves an honorary medal.

Once Bluesky get the guys who actually wrote Mr. Blue Sky to come on this platform, it’s curtains for Musk and Zuckeberg.

The only good thing about international break: not feeling obligated to spend 10 hours in front of a TV on Saturday and actually going out and experiencing nature instead.

Les Gones have gained a reputation as being the comeback kings of France: since the start of February, Lyon have come from behind and won on nine occasions.

If their lawyers can find a way to wriggle out of this quagmire, it’ll be the legal equivalent of this remontada:
