Today on Veterans Day, I'll be thinking of Ted and of all my fellow veterans who have given so much, as well as the courage and commitment we all must show to honor their legacy as we navigate a difficult time for our country.

The day I swore my own oath and entered the United States Navy was one of the most eventful of my life. During my more than four years on active duty, I had the honor of serving with some amazing shipmates, as well as as being a voice for sailors and Marines from all over the country.
