A final rule is set to take effect on July 15, 2025, that removes accessibility requirements for new federal buildings. The rule will happen unless "significat adverse" comments are received.

See the link for what makes significantly adverse comment & leave one. www.regulations.gov/document/DOE...

While inflation edged down to 2.3%, the lowest since 2021, worker's purchasing power dropped to -0.1%. Low inflation and a drop in real purchasing power isn't good news for the economy.

I've had a Synology NAS since 2020 and I've promoted the benefits of Synology to anyone who would listen. With their new vendor lock practices, that's no longer the case. Fortunately, the community has found ways around this senseless vendor lock.
I got around Synology's dumb drive restrictions — here's how

Microsoft has the wrong approach - if you want Copilot adoption, make it useful, don't force it into everything.

I was so annoyed with Microsoft forcing Copilot on me that I changed my laptops to Ubuntu and switched my default office suite @onlyoffice.bsky.social on all my devices.
Consumers make their voices heard as Microsoft's huge venture flatlines in popularity
It's showing no sign of budging.

Is it really that Americans have lost their appetite for fast casual restaurants, or is it that most Americans are struggling financially and cutting back on non-essential expenses AND that private equity ran the ones they took over into the ground in pursuit of profits?

Ads are out of control. I searched "data governance trends in nonprofit sector" on Bing (because I haven't changed the default on my work computer) and I got 6 ads and 3 search results. 🤯

Things didn’t used to be this way:

“Since 1985, rent prices have exceeded income gains by 325 percent.”

Korea's attempted coup was no less dangerous or politically protected by career opportunists and cowards than the current coup in the US was.

It was shut down in 6 hours. The president was in jail within weeks.

It's only impossible to resist if you are convinced it is impossible to resist.

Yes—private corporations😳

This is Project 2025. This is fascism. This will get worse.

Research universities are often the largest employers in their region. They are often the primary health care providers to communities. This funding shift will not only reduce US research leadership, it will put working people out of work and reduce healthcare access.
Excellent 🧵 on this evening's NIH announcement of a dramatic reduction in indirect rates for research institutions, which amounts to a generational restructuring of the US research and development ecosystem. These cuts are effective immediately, not just for new grants but for existing ones.
6. The policy does not just affect funding going forward. All existing NIH grants will have their indirect rates cut to 15% as of today, the date of issuance.

For a large university, this creates a sudden and catastrophic shortfall of hundreds of millions of dollars against already budgeted funds.
