I intend to do more streams like this to keep documenting my progress, so if that's something you'd like to see then by all means, tune in! If not, that's fine too - these especially are more just for me anyways.

Anyway, all this is to say I'll be streaming again soon. When exactly that is may be as soon as tomorrow or as late as Saturday - basically, whenever I feel like hitting "go live" again. Until then, stay cool and remember - DO NOT POUR CAT LITTER ON YOUR WET CARPET.

I was able to pull out a couple solid blobs of grey sludge (gross), and now my carpet is back to its normal wetness. Which isn't great, but at least it's back to normal.

So today, I had the idea to try what those satisfying rug cleaning videos do, and try and drag out the wet with a squeegee - lucky me, I have one in my car on the tail end of an ice scraper I got from Bi-Mart like 5 years ago. This was terrifically effective!

So I went to the Internet, which said to pour 50/50 vinegar and water over it, then scrub it out. After this, I was able to get most of the litter out but the floor still felt like I was putting my feet in the kind of mud that pulls your boots clean off if you're not careful.

So I bought a carpet cleaner (also a Bissell, because they're cheap and generally pretty alright - see previous about the vacuum). This did not work, and clogged up my carpet cleaner a bit with more wet litter (I still need to clean the thing out, it's a pain), but at least nothing broke.

Instead what happened was, I clogged up my vacuum with what is basically wet concrete, snapped the brush drive belt, and got left with carpet that was not only STILL WET, but now also had a decent layer of equally wet cat litter very determined to stay there for as long as possible.

As it turns out, cat litter is somewhat cementitious, meaning it sticks together. I knew this, and figuring it would be fine, poured most of a 10-pound box onto my very damp *carpet* with the plan to give it a couple minutes and vacuum it up with my very strong Bissell.

"Hey, cat litter is good at cleaning up liquids, I bet that'd do some good!"

It did not.

HOWEVER, I've also been dealing with a water infiltration issue in my apartment in exactly the place where my desk is set up. This has been an active issue for a while and it should be getting resolved soon, but I in my infinite wisdom thought I'd try and do something about it myself and said:

Notably, most of this was spent walking to and from various auto shops in the more-or-less pouring rain.
