Yea not sure then. It should be that you can set the device to update on its own only during certain hours or a timed schedule. Without an image of what you're seeing it's hard to guess. My last suggestion would be to explore the advance update options or just reinstall the OS with file backup.

You can. Windows Update Settings > Change Active hours. There is a search bar on your task bar for finding this information faster.
