I'm just about to finish The Cruel Sea by Nicholas Monsarrat. I've wanted to read it for years, even decades—one of the greatest World War II novels. Next, I'll watch the movie version, an incredible cinematic creation in itself, featuring the iconic Jack Hawkins. Both are highly recommended.
