Making some big changes to #belugaro If you've tried learning #spanish with #duolingo in the past but couldn't be consistent, Belugaro is right for you. Experience passive language learning while you browse

Started working on my app Belugaro again. I still have a few active users, so I decided to reach out. To my surprise, I get a great response from a user about what they like and don't like about Belugaro.

This really inspired me to continue working on Belugaro #buildinpublic #indiehackers

Looking to redesign and simplify the UI my Saas any suggestions for good examples to reference/tools to use?

Random question, are there any good open source resources/apis for gardening, hydroponics, and homesteading information #gardening #hydroponics

Changed my phone language settings to Spanish a while back, it’s changed some apps too. Now when I log a walk with garmin the activity shows up as “Caminar” and it’s confusing people 😂

Taking a step back to add more analytics to my system. Does anyone have experience setting up a dashboard in Google analytics to track what a user does in a session and display it clearly?

Does anyone have a good free translation database that I could download? I’ve found the Webster api but I’m hoping there is some English-Spanish dictionary that I could just download. #buildinpublic #spanish

Slowly working on seo behind the scenes. Tedious but necessary work #buildinpublic

I’ve had some time to check out deep-seek and while I don’t have the hardware to run it locally it’s a very incredible tool. I’ve had it build out a marketing plan into succinct actionable steps.

Have you tried deep-seek yet?

Took the weekend off from #buildinpublic to have a break from work and ponder my next steps. Often we’re conditioned to just keep going and don’t stop to consider the direction we’re heading.

How do you rest?

I’m looking for some books in Spanish that are a collection of short stories, any suggestions?

Found some tongue twisters in Spanish to help me with my pronunciation, how do you practice speaking Spanish?

Anyone have advice for how to NOT keep checking my analytics 📊?

Some days I find myself looking at metrics far more than #buildinpublic

Just added some functionality to Belugaro for myself to learn Spanish. Namely, created a easy lookup for grammar rules and some tongue twisters to listen to and practice my pronunciation. I'm really just my sole user at this point 😆

Just put together a simple recommender system API.
- AWS lambda, 'keep it simple, stupid', and avoids further configurations
- TF-IDF and cosine similarity for recommendations means minimal dependency requirements for text
- Fixed the items to recommend pending further integrations

Quick update

Published a new version of the extension for Belugaro.com. It should give users a sample of how things work without the full setup and web app analytics.

1/2 tasks done this weekend. On to the big one.

Two goals this weekend:

1. Make Belugaro easier to use for first-time users

2. Draft a text-based recommender system

More to follow, stay tuned. #buildinpublic

Chipping away at some blog posts to help with SEO for Belugaro and some admin. It’s not much but it’s something.

Keep at it

Finally got up the nerve to change my phone language preference to Spanish.

It doesn’t affect all apps but it should give me a lot more exposure to Spanish #learningspanish #spanish

I always find it’s hard to ask people for advice and for help.

But every time I do I find people are welcoming and happy to help.

Keep asking for help

Working 9-5, I can’t work on my side projects some days. But today I was my own user, practicing Spanish on Belugaro during my commute.

It’s not perfect, but it works for me and the best part is I can keep making it better #buildinpublic #learningspanish #spanish

I built a project where I reached out to friends and family, created blog posts, and slowly saw users tickle in towards arguably a terrible product.

I built a project and ran google ads from the start, I got some emails but none converted.

So I'm building out some features for myself in Belugaro.com, which I'll tentatively call 'language packs'. The idea being a set of nouns/verbs/tenses/adjectives/phrases to discuss a particular topic or subject. #buildinpublic #learnspanish #spanish

I read this on Reddit today about when to launch a SaaS:

“If it doesn't break when your user clicks on something they shouldn't, you've over-built.”

Very encouraging, #buildinpublic #saas
