Yep. The girls and I went to theater Calgary on Saturday night, headed down a bit early for dinner. It was around 530pm.

I got the front row seats this time. There were two bikes in front of me waiting to cross. Pedestrians / bikers / cars on all sides and guy still blows the red light. I think they were both at fault. Airbags etc both went off.

And another. Just now. D****** in the white hat ran the red light.

Probably time to increase speed limits city wide. More crashes, more faster, more better. #not

An SUV rolled three times around 6:00 p.m. Saturday night, just down the hill on 17th Ave from my place. Normal. Right? Lol.

I'm pretty tickled with the specs / pricing. I will wait till spring, no more new bikes before winter but this will make a perfect work bike.

Agreed. I let her wear mine on our second attempt. She doesn't love tight-fitting things around her neck, I'm hoping the 24-in at tires for the boost will clear on her bike, I'll probably need another set + plus some studs.

Our first attempt ended with tears, the gloves were to thin, the wind was blowing down her coat and the bike was too slow 😊. It was slightly uphill and into the wind so it wasn't enjoyable. Heavy boots really slow you down.

Start with short trips. My 8 year old is readying for her first winter biking on her own, we have been trying different outfits / setups to see what works. Utilize second hand stores to score brand name gear at a fraction of the price.

I feel like kids are often left out of the discourse on bike lanes, especially in the media. Children have had enough of their independence stripped; there should be a focus on returning that. Bike lanes are a great tool.
