I finished writing chapter 9 and started on 10. I have enough planned to make it to 12, but I made extra space to allow for more. And, hopefully, I can continue my song-fueled chapter title rampage. I can guarantee that 10 does not go where the lyrics of that song do.

Every time they made eye contact, she hated the loss of those looks, as she wanted to stay lost in her eyes forever. Well, as close to forever as she could get, she told herself. She had been lost enough in her head that she hadn’t noticed that Rumi had long since finished helping her with her button issue. She quickly moved to apologize. “Sorry…” “For what?” “Staring? I know it’s rude.” She felt silly apologizing for wanting to look at her girlfriend, but she felt as though she needed to for whatever reason. “Zoey,” Rumi reassured her, staying in her vision as she undid more buttons on her own blouse, “if I didn’t want you to look at me, I would tell you. You and Mira can look as long as you want. In fact, I want you to look.”
