This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.

What is the NHL's definition of a hot from behind.... Didn't they used to call that? There wasn't even a turn away from the player on the boards... Hit Bouchard right on the numbers.

I ran an experiment, simultaneously posting articles on Bluesky and X, and then testing to see how many people actually clicked and read them. The numbers on Bluesky are higher, both because the X algorithm downranks journalism, and because Bluesky attracts readers, not just shitposters.

In sports, I'm not a fan of "call everything early, and then let 'em play". I'm a fan of you break the rules, you get penalized. Because that's what the rulebook says... And the rules largely define the sport.
