By targeting key components like interleukin-1, JAK–STAT, and NF-κB, we were able to significantly reduce cell plasticity and tumour initiation, highlighting potential new strategies for prostate cancer prevention and treatment.

We demonstrated that deletion of Pten in prostate basal cells induces remarkable cell plasticity and reprogramming, ultimately driving tumour formation. Interestingly, this process is linked to activation of innate immune responses, specifically involving the NF-κB pathway.
