And comments/a beta reader are perfect for this! I'd also say getting someone to beta read your work offers a great deal of reassurance. I'm a perfectionist, too, so I understand how hard it can be to confidently post something that's not as good as other beautiful fics I've read. I believe in you!

Other than regret, though, I deal with imposter syndrome in general by telling myself that my path is not the same as others', and I'll improve in my own time, which is okay. As long as I'm not dwelling on my mistakes and doing what I can to fix them, that's good enough.

I think for me, what motivates me to post is the archival aspect. I wanna be able to look back on my past work with the engagement, comments etc. and see the way my writing changes. I had some fics that I regretfully deleted, so now I post and leave my works up no matter how "bad" I think they are.
