Scottish Water's prices are regulated to increase by "not more than CPI+2% per year on average". This years increase is above that, although within the Determination limit of a cumulative 12.6% increase over the 6 year regulatory period of 2021-27.
Granted, a lot less than private water increases.

I'm no Gen Z but they can do the math the same as me.
£7-£8 for a pint of cider in a boring London pub/bar.
£2.60 for 4 cans at the supermarket.

All my friends are online in VR on a Friday night until dawn on Saturdays. In virtual night clubs, karaoke, playing dancing games... y'know, having fun.

Over 2.5 million UK residents opposed this authoritarian power grab.

As the International Paralympic Committee has capitulated and lifted the ban on Russia and Belarus competing in the next games, will all the other nations show some guts and boycott the games in response?

The UK gov't claims Digital IDs will stop cash-in-hand illegal working (by illegal migrants AND CITZENS). But how will it stop cash-in-hand payments? I'm glad you asked that. It's only part of the solution. Next, we will abolish physical cash and replace it with the Digital Pound and social scoring.

Here we go...
"Just let us use your personal data to train AI..."

Time for everyone to change their name and profile pic to Clippy.

If anyone thinks cutting interest rates now is going to avert the coming stock market crash, this should wake you up. It won't. It's too late. See how the S&P500 index usually tracks job openings numbers? Either lots of jobs are magically going to appear real soon or the S&P500 will meet the curve.

Words are very powerful, and how they are presented is insightful.
Kier Starmer had 'good words' in the past, but his handwriting says a lot about him.

I found a heron in its natural habitat. Eating scraps thrown to it on a hotdog stand in Camden Market.

The definition of a "service likely to be accessed by UK children" requiring a risk assessment and mitigations is so broad that it includes individuals - me.

When I talk to someone about their #MentalHealth, I ask them to declare that they are over 18 before we start. 1/4 🧵 #OnlineSafetyAct

UK Government doubles down on the bonkers #OnlineSafetyAct.

I've signed. Have you? If the petition gets to 1 million UK citizen / resident signatures, it gets upgraded so that it goes to the Lords and not the Commons for debate.

In the last 12 months, 30.5% of UK electrical energy came from gas. It's true that Marginal Pricing means all sources get paid the market wholesale rate set by the most expensive source (gas) because it's necessary for supply reliablity 24x365 which renewables are nowhere near achieving.

After a cat-astrophic first year in power, Kier Starmer trades places with acting Prime Minister Larry.
Larry, in his first address as PM, proclaimed, "I am the voice of stability, having seen multiple incom-pet-ent hoomans in No.10 come and go. Understand this: I own this place. Gib snack!"

Apparently, not enough people are posting on Bluesky. Numbers are down. The platform is "collapsing".

I'm here to save the day.

Now like and follow 😉

One of two things will be true here.
1) The battery is tiny and so would be irrelevant as an EV main battery.
2) A usefully large (say 60kWh) battery would require 12MW of power to charge in 18 seconds.

A 12MW battery charger station has deliver 30 Amps at 400,000 Volts and would look like this

Liz Truss likes Donald Trump a lot.
They have a lot in common.
They've both crashed an economy in less than a week.

Donald's been taking lessons from her. He's a good student.

Is Donald going to outlast than that lettuce?

Ah... been workin' on the chain gang...

Not so many streams these last few weeks as I have to export all this video to YouTube & local disk backup by hand.

Thanks Twitch. Love ya.

Microsoft "improving" the value of their subscription software service by removing services and throwing their own product users under the bus.

Publisher being retired with no way to directly access archive docs?

Microsoft: Tough luck! Give us your annual sub money anyway, you hapless chumps.
