New book review at The Storytelling Blog: School of Shards by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko. Conclusion of the Vita Nostra series, coming in June. Best of the magical school trope, IMO.

Dear @harpervoyagerus.bsky.social,
What tasks must I do, how many coins must I collect, into what must I transform myself to get myself approved for School of Shards?
Yours respectfully,
Stephen (Vita Nostra SuperFan)

Halfway through School of Shards (Vita Nostra Book 3), and I’m loving this. This book feels like your classic “magical academia” book, this time from the prospective from the teachers. Everything has led to this, we know what the Institute does, we know who Sasha is… it’s amazing!
