The absolute whiplash going from 300 Pepsi + AI shill commercials and trailers for homogenized hollywood shixbox blockbusters to the beautiful haunted quietness of Yoshitaka Amano's Angel's Egg was crazy. It felt utterly disrespectful to 'pregame' that movie with all that bullshit lol

More cool mine ephemera: headframes! Used to pull up coal, people, and equipment either with elevators or conveyors. Powered through steam generated from boilers using the very coal they harvest from the ground, pulled up through huge hoists at ground level, gears on top. They're HUGE.

Coal Breakers are such interesting pieces of architecture. Fascinating building complexes that used to be the heart of the #1 most profitable in the USA, now totally defunct. Absolute death traps but they look VERY cool lol
