Board game designer: LIFEFORM, THE THING, REVOLVER, and WHERE HUMANS DON'T BELONG, etc. Likes toad licking, gamebooks, and freediving with Megalodon sharks.
Big fan of the WARLOCK RPG - it’s a hybrid of Fighting Fantasy and the original Warhammer Roleplay. It also helped me get through a dark time in my life.

I played a solo WALKING DEAD RPG session. Notes below:

Been tinkering with THE WALKING DEAD RPG - I really like the nuts and bolts system, but am going with a fungus zombie apocalypse

I simply don’t understand the dislike for JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH.
Watched it again and it’s still glorious. The best dinosaur island movie, and so many fantastic water sequences.

Something that seemingly only I remember: THE ALIENS ARE COMING -TV pilot from 1980 that terrified young me.
It's the weirdness of the two attacks, and the screams of the victims that has stayed with me all these years. The 2nd spaceship also has PROJECT BLUE BOOK energy @scarredforlife.bsky.social

Probably the best art in the rulebook - the rest has little action, just wonky hipsters in spacesuits or spandex.

But I bought it for the ideas - not the art.

This is an interesting Sci-fi RPG: SUBSTRATUM PROTOCOL. Think The Core mixed with Mothership RPG and The Descent - spelunking adventures vs viscous monsters. Has a cool card-based task resolution system. Good for solo.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy CRYPT OF THE MOON SPIDER. Overpriced and not my cup of tea.

Once again, BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS proves a delight!

I like the LAST FLEET RPG. It’s very Battlestar Galactica. I’m not a massive fan of the Apocalypse World-like moves system, but there’s some gold in this book you can pan for.

I’ve never seen anyone else talk about the ASHEN STARS RPG. It’s uses the Gumshoe system - and is overflowing with cool ideas and concepts. You play alien freelance detectives.

Some of you not be aware that @modiphius.bsky.social created an excellent SPACE 1999 RPG (that uses the 2D20 system). Can certainly recommend!

Once again, been pouring over THE FALL OF DELTA GREEN rulebook - great fuckin hardback. Nicely evokes the otherness of interdimensional beings!

I created a set of homebrew rules and some helpful charts for the SPACE 1999 RPG - see below:
