Though I suppose "skip" is a strong word here, since they did put up a "Danger - don't enter" sign, which I'm sure is sufficient to deal with an demon infested, dimension-traveling tower that dead people walk out of.

Last time this happened to me was during a hexcrawl. The players skipped my planned dungeon, but rolled so bad on their travel-checks, that they had to deal with pouring rain, soaked maps and unfriendly patrols.

Great! That gave me time to prep the next thing.
