I'm definitely not getting a September scribble done in time (curses upon these college assignments) as much as I really wanted to try

But I did just write an 800 word reply to the rp I'm doing with another player at my D&D table, so I'll just drop that with absolutely no context
Vetteia is unprepared for Neris to actually release her this time, dropping with a sharp, "Oh!" and a small splash the rest of the way into the water. With her feet on the bottom, it isn't enough to submerge her, but she nevertheless has to wipe water from her eyes and steady herself. By the time she has, Neris is already standing, stealing any chance of arguing further. She half swims, half wades to the ventral edge of the shell, where incline and water are both more shallow, and settles in to watch Neris work. Left with nothing to do, their time travelling suddenly feels unbearably close to endless - when was the last time either of them just sat, without danger, expectation, the unknown of the next moment keeping them always halfway elsewhere? The first night back in Ared'Hel, maybe? But Vetteia had had other things to attend to then, of course. She certainly did not feel any regret for that, though she's starting to think Neris and Izzy might have gotten along a little too well had they properly met. No, this is the first chance she's had to sit alone with her thoughts, no distractions. And it's...wrong. She should be helping. Doing something. Sure, she couldn't lift that bucket. Or the ladle. Or the stones. At least when they're travelling she can fight, heal, scout. It's backwards, she should need help there, not here. But magic makes her big. And hers isn't helpful here, so what's she to do? Talk. Wait. Make herself available. Just a pretty little thing again, a talking doll, a toy, a trinket, a pet- Stop. Stop it. Neris doesn't think like that. You know that. She's helping because she's your friend. She doesn't even want to pick you up. Even if it is because she thinks you're too delica- STOP. Stop. Neris fills her vision again as she returns, and she's thankful to have something material to focus on once more. Her hand approaches the shell and Vetteia braces, not clear yet on how exactly she plans on heating the bath, but anticipating some rough waters. Her fears go unfounded, of course, as her spell pulls a trickle from each source as gentle as pooling spring rain. It's a little unnerving to watch, admittedly, not unlike the first time she saw magic stitch a wound back together. But, gods, that would be a useful spell. She looks up to Neris and nods. "Yeah, alright. Thank you." She tries to sound as earnest as she can, and hopes it comes through. But sitting there, again, her mind starts to wander. Stop. Think about something else. "Um, so, tell me about the dreams? I mean, you don't have to give me details, I've been there. But maybe we can do something about them. I-I don't know any magic to make them go away, but there are things you can try. Like...comfort. Uh, not like a cozy bed, but familiarity. Something to make you feel safe wherever you're sleeping. Or meditating, I guess. Most of the time you're sitting by a rock, or a tree, and that can't be that restful. We could try to find a nice blanket, or a tent just for you, or- or even a stuffed animal." Vetteia grins, half teasing and half encouraging. "No judgement! I've used one. But it works, the familiarity. I haven't had a nightmare since you...since you made me that pouch to sleep in, so..." The grin retreats into a shy smile, and then further to a scarlet stain as another thought occurs to her. "Or we could- if it would help, you- um. You could...hold on to me? K-Kizan does, when something is bothering her enough that she can't sleep. I don't know why me, Izzy's been around longer, but, you know, it seems to help her. And you wouldn't have to worry about me, it's plenty cozy on my end, and I've never been crushed. She rolls over on me, gods, all the time. A-and if you'd still be afraid of hurting me, usually Izzy will leave me here," She gestures just below her collarbone, and then pushes herself above the water a little to do the same toward her midriff, "or here. Th-that, I don't know if it helps her sleep, that's just where she likes me. But maybe it does? Would? Help her, or help you? I-it's up to you, just a suggestion, the other things could help just as well. We just need to find the thing that works for you, you know?" Vetteia takes a deep breath and lets it out in a contented huff, smiling up bashfully toward Neris and hoping she heard all of that through her incantation. And then she remembers: "Oh! That's probably hot enough! Thank- thank you..."

And my gf's stuff, except for the wand on the left, which is mine! I also picked up some D&D minis, but those are a pain to re-wrap so I'm not taking them out til I'm back at my place (includes a faerie, of course)

I mean I definitely tend to go for a gentler exploration of power in size, and when I'm dommy it tends to be more of a request than a demand. Plus I do really enjoy quiet intimacy when it comes to romance, I guess I just never thought about how that would apply to sex (outside of size).

Gods, I don't play any cozy games so all of my options here REALLY suck. I guess Monster Hunter: World is my best bet? At least the hub never gets attacked and the rooms are nice. I really hope they've figured out indoor plumbing though
