FCES 2025 was rounded off with a visit to the European Chemicals Agency @echa.europa.eu in the afternoon, with lots of questions from us guests. We thank all the conference participants for an interesting and rewarding day and hope to see you again in two years!

FCES 2025: our prize for the best student speedtalk today went to Onni Sirkiä (UEF, title Ecotoxicity of Tire Rubber Additives and the Temporal Trends of Their Leaching). All the speedtalks were good, but congratulations to Onni for a very clear and well timed one!

FCES 2025: Farshad Vakili (@utu.fi) talked about his study on the effects of PFASs on the thyroid hormones and egg-turning behaviours of waterbirds.

FCES 2025: Dr. Lisandrina Mari (@uniofjyvaskyla) presented on the impacts of heavy metal contamination on the behaviour and cognition of birds.

FCES 2025: our 2nd keynote speaker, Dr. Junghao Shi from China National Center for Bioinformation, talked about RNA as carrier of the epigenetic effects of environmental signals.

FCES 2025 kicked off this morning with an excellent keynote presentation on microplastics in the environment by prof. Jussi Kukkonen from UEF!
