Today is EO9066 Day of Remembrance. 🇺🇸

This EO ordered the incarceration of Japanese residents. They were citizens and immigrants denied citizenship due to racist laws. Their stories are more important than ever.

Take some time to listen to their stories.

#Megadeth

You take a mortal man
And put him in control
Watch him become a God
Watch people's heads a-roll

#guitarriff

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the symphony of destruction

Listen, if this task force to combat the "war on Christians" isn't locked down by the 1st amendment, we're cooked. Done. We can't come back from this. #Democrats what can I or we do? Do I have to tell anyone that this is a terrible idea? We can all see the #Theocracy right?

#BlackHistoryMonth

Racial Segregation of Schools became federally illegal in 1954.

After decades of dragging the conservatives kicking and screaming into the 21st century, the last school to outlaw Segregation was in Cleveland, Mississippi in 2016.

This is not ancient history. It was yesterday.

#BlackHistoryMonth lesson: Redlining.

We drew lines around black neighbourhoods (accidentally of course /s) and refused them credit, mortgages, and school funding. The 1968 Fair Housing Act outlawed racially motivated Redlining.

Why do we need #DEI?

This is not ancient history. It was yesterday.

#BlackHistoryMonth. On June 18, 1964, black and white protesters jumped into the whites-only pool at the Monson Motor Lodge in St. Augustine, Fla. In an attempt to force them out, the owner of the hotel poured acid into the pool. This is not ancient history. It was yesterday.

Time for more #BlackHistoryMonth no one talks about. The 13th Amendment was adopted in 1865. Delaware ratified in 1901. Kentucky in 1976.

Mississippi in 1995. Due to definitely accidental clerical errors, MS didn't certify their decision until 2013.

This is not ancient history, it was yesterday.

In Honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, let's all remember:

1. What Juneteenth actually celebrates.
2. Why we even have the 14th Amendment in the first place.
3. The Black Wall Street Massacre.
4. The Colfax Massacre.
5. The Wilmington Massacre.

Vocab of the day is RACISM.
