Mate if you think starmer is following leftwing policies (or even centre-right policies by 1970s standards) you're too dumb to vote

1. people arent stupid and feel the damage in their lives.
2. there hasnt been a massive successful campaign behind social media in a long time. a decade ago people were flooded with news about twitter supporting arab spring and freedom. Today all there is is musk blabbing on twitter. not convincing

America nuked its own alliances, the rich have paid for the govt to allow a stock market that is in a permabubble paid for with pension money (until it isnt), but yeah, drink some champagne lol
December 30, 2025 at 10:46 PM
Our goal should be to do the same - and to make sure a few very rich boomers dont get to cash out and implode this whole system.
December 30, 2025 at 3:51 PM
Exactly. Also, it isnt like they are just getting money. They paid for that pension, and that was money that was used to invest in the world we live in. The roads, electricity that we use, fiber, etc, thats the fruit of the work of past gens. Good that they have pensions now.

This is, of course, very fair, and I was thinking about Europe where normal people usually have access to meds for their illnesses.
December 30, 2025 at 9:36 AM
I was thinking of people that can't move and therefore can't run away/find food/resist anyone from homegrown looters to a foreign army. And iw as including most elderly people. Half of them (and a quarter of all adult people today have some level of disability. (Eurostat statistic)

glad to have had this convo. take good care, and thanks for the original post.
December 30, 2025 at 12:48 AM
but you know, this very much is splitting hairs lol it isnt like we can choose. It kind of boils down to having a positive midset and being grateful - and im sure you can be upset at the world (i very much am) and still be grateful, intermittently, like me lol
December 30, 2025 at 12:47 AM
I am not disagreeing - you have your experience. however, meds can help, you can talk to a stranger on the internet and they know what you mean, youre not the first to die in a siege or invasion or plague, and i have my MS medicine, and nobody has tried to kill us all since 1945 - for now...
December 30, 2025 at 12:45 AM
This is true. But I would argue this pathologization is precisely part and parcel of the same scientism that led to racial science. bUt ThE sKuLL Is suCh aNd sUcH!
Things are not always bad and again, measuring bad things is dumb. But they werent great. SOME disabled people were cared for. SOME.
December 30, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Fair - and id be the first to argue once humans graduate from being shit people into creating ideologies that justify being shit, thats when things get worse, and thats why the n word is worse than midget.

but foucaults history of madness (great book) shows things were at times very bad.
December 30, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Thinking about this makes me 1) glad i live in the 21st century and 2) makes me realize that the depravity of humans is pretty shit and usually boils down to the same - exploitation, rape, death, with a convenient explanation that usually means "it's for your own good" :\
December 30, 2025 at 12:35 AM
What's worse? being put in a ship for 3 months and then worked to death, or being put in a room, barely fed, and raped repeatedly by your captors, as many disabled women were? I dont know, but i dont think thats the point of saying slurs are bad.
December 30, 2025 at 12:31 AM
mate for centuries every person with a serious disability would be left to die, lived in a cage in town (middle ages vagrancy) or was put in an asylum where they were tortured into madness... Let's be real, being disabled was historically pretty fkn bad.
December 30, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Also, honestly, anything that comes out of that much of an obsession together with the skill to follow through on that level of perfectionism is worth a watch.

it is good that things can be like this. We should strive for this level of commitment to art and craft more often.

I suspect many people are just less online over Christmas. Trolls are an unavoidable reality these days, and it probably changes those terminally online...

Why not both mate, why not both?

wait, you thought there was a chance this was more than a dumb brat crybabying for a better grade cause mommy told her she deserved it?
December 24, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Amazing, think of the shareholder value that is going to be created once this innovation is cornered and monopolized by a company and most people can't afford it!!!
December 23, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Not random that antisemitism has been at its maximum when money has been it's most concentrated (feudalism, early modernity, late 19th century early 20th century)
December 22, 2025 at 5:34 PM
I would only add: "a few billionaires/ money have always controlled things" TO A CERTAIN EXTENT. Up to people to limit that extent.

But Indeed, the aesthetic similarity isn't random. It is because blaming Jews for money's control was politically expedient in the past, and can be again...
December 22, 2025 at 5:33 PM
This could be said for many more areas, but one that immediately comes to mind is policy messaging and thought leadership. If you're writing a briefing for an event that matters and all I'm reading is slop, I got to ask "should you be employed here?"
