all this to say: i do not envy the job of those who stayed and tried to engage with it in good faith, given how even a brush with it drove me off immediately. kudos to anyone who did try to deal with it all

in that i thought "maybe 20-30% of this is actually coming from the GM but not more" and somehow even that was an overestimate

so at that point i was like "well, that's a contradiction for other people to resolve" and left, and then it turned out i was like way, way more correct than i realized

i think i tried to ask something like "what if i got 'chokespawned' and then behaved normally" and was told by another player that it'd be against the spirit of the game, which struck me as very odd given what i understood to be the spirit of the game's official rules (low-rp wargame stuff)

there was a really specific tipoff for me which is that none of the chokespawn stuff was mechanically reflected. given the sparseness of the existing rules i was like "there have never been rules about how you post, so i'm really skeptical that there's new rules about having to post weird"

yeah i made a brief attempt to get into the game but the fact that so much of the confusion was non-diegetic that night ultimately convinced me i should drop it instead
