Just started my 4th consecutive 6-month planner which means I’ve planned my day (almost) every day for EIGHTEEN MONTHS. Truly incredible accomplishment for my little brain.

I offered to make dinner for a friend’s birthday and she requested “my” lasagna, which is: (1) not mine, it’s an old family recipe and (2) is my very favorite thing to cook for other people. #todaysjoy

I love these mints and I’ve been rationing them because they’re only available around Christmas. I ate my last one a few days ago. Today I found a second pack, unopened. #todaysjoy

This guy cracks me up. Constantly looks like the saddest plant in the world - brown edges, wilty. But still puts out blooms every week like clockwork.

Yesterday’s joys were harder to spot. I was pretty down all day. But I forced myself to take the kids outside, despite the crustiness I felt. I peeled the bark off many sticks, drank iced coffee, and watched 10yo forage for edible plants. I still felt crusty, but the joy was there too.

Today’s delights: (1) watching my 4yo build with shapes while I worked at the library (2) made an almost perfect Baby Yoda pancake and my 10yo said, “You’re getting the hang of it, Dad!”

This is the most I’ve read in a long time! Two cheeky murder mysteries, one epic fantasy, one quiet time travel, and a thriller. All were good but @shannonchakraborty.bsky.social ‘s was my favorite.
