To end this wall of text, all I want to say is, homestead decorations could be better, but I will gladly take it over the scribing system, where you spend 10 minutes for 1 item and also end up spending 100 gold for just one small corner, when homestead makes you pay much less and less handcramps!

...which in total should be around 10 gold for 1(!) Wide Library Shelf. Then I look at the homestead recipe which is rougly 1 Gold and no real subcrafts. My favourite example is still the dragon hologram generator. Homestead: ~170 Gold, Guild: ~550 Gold. Long fancy table, Home ~1G, Guild ~7G...

...at least 1 minute to finishing the prerequisites. And sometimes just in order to create a decoration you first had to build other decorations. Let's take the wide library shelf. You first had to craft a simple shelf, which you used to craft a library shelf with and then a wide library shelf...

I mainly call them cheap in comparison to guild hall decoration crafting (scribe). For scribe you ALWAYS needed a a scribing kit which depending on the tier can be 2 gold alone, but even if not, they were always tedious to craft since it had 3 subcraft that also had subcrafts. So you spent ...

It's funny because all these years we only had scribe to craft decorations for the guild hall and the price is WAY more expensive.
So seeing the homestead decorations being this cheap is a nice change. Still agree they could be cheaper.
