I don't think we should cut ourselves off from the news. I also don't think we should treat it as a religious obligation. I do think we need to take care of our mental health because, at least in the USA for me, everyday there's something anxiety-inducing in the headlines.

The world was still messed up, but differently than I remembered from 13 years before. It was as if I crawled out of a cave I had been sleeping in and discovered that society transformed while I was gone. Americans were polarized in a way I didn't remember from before.
