For me now it's almost equal to WizNote, which was the most comfortable cross-platform note taking system (which is in turn better than more known Evernote).

First of all what I do on any camera I happen to own is setting a "back button focus", and remove half-pressed focus from the shutter button so that when the shutter button is pressed it would not make the camera to refocus. Next I find convenient ways to have AEL at hand.

Maybe it's worth trying with a SmallRig grip? I used to have this kind of cameras and having a big grip is way more comfortable.
