Two years ago I wrote letters to people I felt grateful for as part of my new year practice. The first letter I wrote was to former President Jimmy Carter. I received a card in return that I keep on my fridge. May he and Rosalyn rest in peace.

I had a chance to deliver a webinar for nearly 300 research professionals across the country yesterday on organizational equity strategies. There was so much engagement in the room. Equity work is far from dead. If anything, it’s even more vital.

This is my first Thanksgiving (as an adult) in Tacoma. My sibling and their girlfriend are coming over, as is my sibling’s personal trainer (my sibling is a disabled athlete) and his daughter. I’m so grateful to be hosting Thanksgiving in my new home & to meet three new people simultaneously.

I couldn’t attend #ASHE, but I’m honored to contribute to the Presidential Commission on Service. Hannah Reyes and I wrote a section on faculty public scholarship and community engagement—highlighting how undervaluation in P&T processes disproportionately impacts marginalized faculty. #highered
