Opinions are my own
Perhaps there are shades of corruption. Congress people would likely not make the amount many make insider trading outside of congress.

Either way, I think it prolly benefits everyone to rank Zohran to avoid Cuomo, who supports none of what we’ve discussed and actively attempted to sabotage MTA as gov. Best of luck advocating for better transit and housing for working class people 🙏🏻 🙌🏻

Is the assertion that the MTAs debt is structured the same way a households? Increases in bus ridership and speeds that comes from free rides benefits subway ridership cause folks use it to get to MTA stops. MTA needs more funding but making buses faster and safer is a net positive and worth the $

Can you point to information that says that all new housing will be rent stabilized? The campaign proposed fast tracking 100% affordable housing and using existing funds for affordable housing. All that is is public competition with the private, which is a good thing for YIMBY goals.

Point being is he sounds more aligned with you than any candidate not on your slate, and leagues better than Cuomo on the discussed issues.

If congestion pricing continues, the MTA will have money to make big repairs, plus the pilot had great success. The rent freeze won’t prohibit new housing. Those rents aren’t what NYC would use to fund new housing, even if they got raised. Plus the private sector Can do lux stuff in upzoned spots.

Why not rank Mamdani? He supports upzoning neighborhoods and building more housing, and he’s similar to Zellnor and Lander on most issues.

“Bro said 3 coherent sentences, therefore the litany of interviews and evidence of his decline since 2019 are false”

Biden and Tapper can get screwed.

Fair enough, I've rarely encountered folks involved in left organizing irl who don't have more practical mindsets so that's surprising. Keep fighting the good fight for more housing (hopefully both social and private)!

Have your only interactions with left politics been on twitter/bluesky? I'm not tryna say that convo seems like it's from fantasy land but... 😂

Is a systemic critique saying that we shouldn't implement more friendly capitalist solutions i.e. Austin & Minneapolis? Cause most takes I've seen just say those solutions shouldn't be the end goal (see CDMX's affordability crisis despite tons of building).

As we discuss the "abundance" agenda, Mexico City's experience sheds light on why it's important to have an understanding of power/the result of a private-led solution when addressing the housing crisis. Academic or not, just relaxing codes shouldn't be the end goal.

A New Plan to Fix Mexico’s Housing Crisis
Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum wants to bring social housing back to Mexico City’s core. It may be the capital’s best shot at making affordability more than just a slogan.
