one more thing - the displace mods need to be BEFORE the actual hair particle modified if that makes sense

i ahve a feeling im super wrong, but maybe inverse the factor, or even change the Z displacement so it's just underneath so the hair isnt so intense. i dunno, looks good tho!

it's kinda like a bump/displacement in tha tit's not really a 'model' so it sits on top of the mesh, non destructive. if it was under the mesh surface, would you have it stil showing? you may be able to set the thickness to the negative. also, make sure to control A that mesh + normals face out
