It's hard for me to think that if they don't deliver on this budget then the UK will enter into a recession in the new year. It's conceivable that the budget in whatever form it comes could be the killing blow to Labour's chances of ever becoming a relevant party again.
No pressure though.

"Difficult decisions" and making "necessary choices" doesn't mean punishing working class people. Difficult decisions can also mean finding alternative ways to plug the gap that Labour have now caused themselves. Start by taxing the rich and also properly taxing huge corporations if you have to.

This is not the gravy train that Labour members wanted it to be. The budget is the next big step on that one. If they fuck that up and offer lukewarm policies and bullshit platitudes that don't stimulate growth in the economy, then the chancellor may soon be the next person who should get a P45.

They may have a majority but they will find out soon enough that roughly 400 Labour MPs may become unemployed in the next election cycle if they are not careful. And if the Labour Party members are not doing anything to call this stuff out then these questions must be asked of them too.

Are they in denial? Are they oblivious to it all? Do they care that the road they are taking is a one way trip to electoral oblivion? Do they know that they are polling so badly? Do they know that there are times when you need to work on the optics of a situation and not try to make "touch choices"?

I think the thing that is so dumb about what Labour are doing though is that they have every opportunity to actually be a proactive government and not a reactive one, but with Starmer, Lammy and Reeves at the helm, they are always 1,000,000 steps behind.

It's crazy that no one - and I mean NO ONE - in the media is learning from what happened with their coverage of Trump that first time round. They've just slotted in and accepted that this is their life now and they are just going to try and push the Reform UK Limited narrative.

AND EVEN THEN, there's no reason to think that the Green Party could gain power or stop the momentum that Reform is getting due to the media pushing their every move and their every outrageous statement.

I think this is why I hate the political discourse in this country so much. Your Party is already fragmented and confused. Labour aren't doing anything against the rise of Reform UK Limited. Lib Dems.. who? Conservatives are just Reform Lite. Green Party is probably the only one that seems credible.

Client journalists and Conservative arselickers are all outraged. Where was this outrage when it was happening under their watch? Where was this outrage when politicians lied in the house of commons week in and week out? Where was this outrage when the Tories fucked up?
Oh wait. It wasn't there.

This is why I hate them so much and why I call them Cuntservatives. Because they don't practice what they preach, sow division, have a holier than thou attitude when they are just as bad as the rest of them, and they think they can justify it because they are not in power.

The hypocrisy of Conservatives calling for the resignation of Labour MPs for lying is also palpable. There have been DOCUMENTED moments of Conservatives lying in Parliament and they haven't batted an eye, but when Labour MPs do it everyone loses their fucking mind.

They are not credible and they need challenging on their policies and their beliefs, but no one apart from the odd journalist seems to want to do this. This is just the start to a slippery slope to a repeat of what happened with Brexit and with Trump.

Reform are still a long way away from being any credible challenger, but they are given more coverage than most of the other parties combined. This is not just from the right wing toilet paper, but also from left leaning sources AND even supposedly impartial sources like the BBC.
