To increase the visibility of women in science and celebrate our fellow diatomologists, we have decided to make a list of diatoms named in honour of women scientists. It is not a comprehensive list, please help us to complete it! Do you know any other diatoms named in honour of women or girls?

Today we celebrate women and girls in science. Regrettably, the „scissor effect“ in science continues, and although the quanity of women at the beginninng of their scientific careers supercede those that get to follow their dream and continue in science.
