Oh weary heart, take heed and see Thy worth transcends thy agony Though now the road seems fraught and long Within thy soul remain a song Let not the weight of the failing frame Extinguish yet thy inner flame For storms do pass as seasons turn And from the ash new strentgh may burn

With every step, my path becomes clear,
The strength within me grows each year.
In the calm, I find my pace,
As I move forward with renewed grace.

Hungry, displaced, and cold they roam,
From their own land, no place to call home.
Their faces haunt my troubled mind,
A grief so deep, no peace to find.
The heart aches, the pain untold,
A wound that time can’t ever hold.

The weight of this unseen affliction,
Dims every thought and hinders conviction.
My duties pile, but I stand still,
Caught in the grip of this mental chill.

Brain fog has clouded all my days,
And work doth falter in its ways.
Once clear, my thoughts now slow and blurred,
Each task a battle, each word a slur.

I long to weep, yet tears deny,
My aching heart, though dry the eye.

The torment spreads, a cruel decree,
As fog of mind doth swallow me.
My thoughts once sharp, now lost, confined,
A shadow on my weary mind.

For one day, peace shall come to reign,
Beneath these skies of sorrow and pain.

Many years ago, when I was in late teens, I loved writing poems. Today, I was going through my old memories and found my booklet of poems. thirty-two of them.

I'm sharing one. I named it "Facts." Perhaps a better one is needed, but I m leaving as it is for now.

"Ah, dear interlocutor, I would describe my pain as a most exquisite torment, akin to the relentless gnawing of a particularly insistent moth upon a silken tapestry—both vivid and utterly unavoidable. Truly, it is a sensation most profound, much like the common cold, only more tiresome."

The struggle persists against these afflictions, which remain incurable—a torment that inflicts great suffering yet spares the life of the sufferer.

"To endure continual affliction is a grievous burden. This ceaseless torment is a bitter trial."

Or simply

"Living with chronic pain is very difficult."
