like, in an ideal world our needs would be accessible to everyone by default and we could seek enrichment and creation without needing it to also feed our families! but until we get there we cannot keep biting people in our own tax brackets for problems billionaires are causing 😭

and i think it’s the same disconnect people have about the necessity of copyright wrt ai regulation, it’s not a desire to win capitalism via IPs/having something others don’t, it’s just that everyone needs enrichment, food, and shelter & that labor/service/innovation should be compensated!

i feel like a lot of people don’t understand that there’s a difference between “i want to live comfortably and have a role that feels meaningful in the society im in” and “i worship capital as a concept and think it’s a game some have to win and some have to lose” especially when it comes to art
