If you want to try drawing, but you’re not very confident this is a happy compromise to get you started. Doing a diary, but illustrating it to get your hand eye and brain working together.. it’s not as daunting as doing a painting.

Working on 2 tracks at the moment.!st track 3/4 written & recorded, needs an ending, fx, mixing. 2nd track new tonight, popped into my head at random opening 12 bars recorded. Both have a gothic feel one is lush & dreamy the other is a bit Rammstein/electronica.

My calligraphy books arrived about an hour ago. Later tonight when it’s cooler, I’ve got to test the thickness of the ink and also the wooden dip and nips and the glass dip pens. I have a feeling I’ll be going out tomorrow to get some other coloured inks and some extra nibs. The nibs feel fragile.

Ordered these two books to arrive Monday. Apart from drawing always been fascinated by illuminated medieval manuscripts after seeing some while visiting England when I was a teenager.

Glass dip pens , used for writing and drawing. They don’t have a flexible nib like calligraphy pants so they can’t be used for calligraphy. They can be used for writing languages that are simple based like Japanese and Korean and also for things like Icelandic runes

I’m still doing my family ancestry. I’ve renewed my membership again. Below you can see the two flags of Normandy as I have some French Norman ancestry. The left one looks Scandinavian, the right one looks like Royal Plantagenet. They are all connected.

I have a second project lined up after the painting I bought a diary which is suitable for painting in. I will be illustrating it like a mediaeval manuscript using the Japanese paints.. they are ideal because the colours are less transparent. I’ve never done calligraphy or illumination before

i’ve also bought about 8 to 10 books recently. Some of them are about watercolour, painting and sketching, and there are also a couple of fiction books. As I read through them. I will give feedback here. I’m hopeful to start a painting today and have it more or less completed by the end of the month

I’ve had a couple of accidents at Christmas and a bit of ill health that’s why I’ve been absent, but I’m back. I received this Japanese watercolour set 45 pans. I also have a smaller set with fewer colours. The paint is different to western watercolours less transparent . #Japan #watercolour

You’ll be happy to know that I finally sorted out the ongoing problem of repairs being done to the apartments where I live.I’ve started writing some music and recording it. I want to do a good job so it may take awhile before it’s on SoundCloud I have a list of things I need to fix on the first song

I need some help with a video Im following. He is opening a Drum Rack and dropping a Sampler onto a pad and then uploading 120 samples onto the pad and then dropping samples into the rectangle on the bottom right corner. I cant drop any in there let alone 120. Help please! #abletonlive #ableton

I’m getting more into using my expensive Camera and watercolour painting. Sort of less group, sociable and more solitary. Too many weird people in the world that I wouldn’t mix with anyway, and the remaining one percentage of difficult to reach.

Can any #Ableton user help me. I was doing something and clicked in the left box now have a problem. Before that the templates, samples, presets, grooves & clips were in a column on the left now they are not. Now I can only find them when I click on user library. What have I done how can I undo it.

I decided to get a Polaroid camera, but this is actually Fujifilm and it’s called a hybrid Camera. Can you take a photo and it actually prints a photo which comes out of the top. I haven’t read the manual yet I’ve just come back from shopping. I’ve still got my very expensive camera

@allyturcotte.bsky.social Im well enough to start writing some music in my home studio. Ive been ill and didnt have a good day yesterday. Today I am bouncing back. My goal today is to start a new track and to start a new book and a few chores. I havent got a pic on this PC of my new Yamaha.
