One of many who does the practical and administrative work of government - i.e. I work for the UK Civil Service. I am currently the Head of Rail Supply Chains at the Department for Business and Trade. Oh, I enjoy amassing cultural capital too!
Hats off to the 'Five hydrogen firsts' inc. first use of rail to move hydrogen as a commodity. Lots of fab stuff going on earlier this week courtesy of Network Rail's site at Tuxford which runs all the way to High Marnham where it sits adjacent to the UK's largest green hydrogen production facility.

Last night I was at the lovely @efdss.bsky.social to see Suntou Susso - kora player, singer and composer from The Gambia - perform. It was a wonderful evening and he was able to get many in the audience singing and dancing - including me!

Lovely walk today from Slaithwaite to the Holme Moss transmitting station and ended up in Holme - via sections of the Colne Valley Circular, Pennine Way and Kirklees Way. After using Shanks’s Pony it was bus then train back home to Slawit.

Fancy some modernist concrete columns? Well these hyperbolic paraboloids are still standing on the site of Queensgate Market when I visited Huddersfield this afternoon.

The UK Government is replacing physical
immigration documents with digital proof of
immigration status called an #eVisa. If you use a
BRP, BRC or visa vignette in your passport to
prove your rights in the UK, go to GOV.UK to find
out what you need to do.
