The "more expensive" and "spyware" parts were honestly inevitable with the way things were going before ChatGPT was a big thing.

Bee Movie all over again.

Mark Zuckerberg very quickly pivoted his personality and company policies (at least publicly) after the election. I fully expect IG to turn into Twitter-like discourse within the next year.

Oh shit, didn't realize SPB5k was on bluesky

Just realized the bio says UK so I guess not entirely relevant but I'm assuming you guys have something similar for government/military secrecy.

Couple issues to note though:
1 - you need to be eligible for clearance in the first place
2 - Trump being in office means it's less stable of a job now than, say, a year ago (unless it's military)
3 - those companies tend to be more old fashioned in a lot of ways

If you're in the US, I suggest working for some agency that requires security clearance. They tend to have policies restricting use of AI because they know that the AI collects possibly sensitive data and don't know what they do with it.

It is still Chromium-based but every non-Chrome Chromium browser likes to act like they're better optimized.

I mean, there are enough people in the world for there to be a big angry crowd on the internet while there also being a separate group big enough to buy every pre-order. Nintendo fans aren't a monolith.

In Spanish they say IA because it's "inteligencia artificial". I imagine it's the same for some other romance languages.

I thought the point of Bluesky was the lack of algorithm

They're made for people who don't know better and only pay attention to the brand recognition. No one may have "asked for" them but I've definitely seen people go "oh hey that movie from my childhood again but different? Yes please"

I think we're well past the point of debating legality about a guy who is (intentionally or unintentionally) circumventing the Constitution, the entire legal basis of the country. The real question is "when is he going to be stopped and by whom?"

DeSantis is especially funny because despite having a fully Republican controlled government, he still fights with them because he ran against Trump once and intends to run again so he's on the cult's hit list.

It's mostly for money laundering and showing off their wealth, I'm pretty sure. If it wasn't AI art, it would be something equally as useless.

Saying China is only defending itself from the US with actions like claiming the South China Sea and backing it up with a growing navy is like saying that Russia is perfectly justified taking Ukraine's territory by force to disrupt NATO's plans or that the US should take Greenland for its safety.

I think many people in the countries around China would disagree that they're only defending themselves from the US. Historically, China has harassed its neighbors and laid claim to their land and waters. There's a reason current Vietnam likes to cooperate with the US military despite their history.

Populist doesn't necessarily mean it's good for that populace, just that you say popular things.

Not the federal government, corporate interests, who also love to pay off the federal government for things to go their way.
