gaming, as usual.
again, i will always be of the mindset of allowing people to express themselves as who they wish to be represented. I'm not here to demean any groups; I'm just someone that wants a bit of civility when it seems like chaos has been far too commonplace in online spaces.

would appreciate feedback or discussions on this by any close mutuals that view this. kinda feel a bit lost on what to make with these feelings, and i kinda worry if it'll be taken in the wrong way. i made my best attempt to be as transparent of my feelings and opinions.

sorry for the long tangent on this situation. feel bad for both parties on how this all erupted; iiSU devs who got embroiled that potentially did not have full context to their original leader.
and, the community for feeling betrayed and potentially scammed for putting support behind this project.

iiSU should know when to sever or to actively take criticism for the opinions their dev teams holds, and should be very responsible and respectful with their responses.
the community should refrain from bombarding questions and demands, as it leads to mental exhaustion and villifying too soon.

iiSU has the responsibility to ensure a welcoming environment for all people. emulation is for the people, not exclusive to a clique or demographic.
the community also has responsibility to hold their developers accountable for questionable ties/opinions, that much is certain.

it might be stupid to get this worked over something as potentially mundane as an emulator platform, but I'm kinda worried regardless. i do hope iiSU makes the effort to ensure a safer community for their peeps, I'm all for that. it's a symbiotic relationship, from what i heard a friend put it.

it kinda scares me, i guess. i don't want to be lumped into the bad crowd, but i also want to state my opinion that taking the human freedom of expression and freedom to be who you want to be shouldn't be something so recklessly touted. i worry it'll lead into further social divides.
November 29, 2025 at 7:30 AM
i am all for championing a fundamental human right to express oneself without fear of retaliation for reworking the societal norms, i really am. but there is a fine line between letting yourself be a good example of expression, and using it as a shield to enforce change by some sort of social force.
November 29, 2025 at 7:28 AM
i don't want to condone bad people; i just want to see the product they work hard on come to fruition.
i want them to be socially aware of their community and reform for the better, but I'm worried that the concerned masses will take their concerns too far without the option for forgiveness.

however, the social ramifications are what scare me most.
- iiSU is now, likely, marred in the worst case scenario of being inept to community reception throughout its entirety of existence.
- it is extremely difficult to make donations, if the act of doing so inadvertently supports bad actors.
November 29, 2025 at 7:24 AM
on one hand, support potentially yields:
- continued progress for an emulation platform that appeals to my desire of style in an emulator.
- ensuring that developers who have only done good work can find some sort of financial backing.

i have been made aware of this, unfortunately. a genuine shame to have this unveiled after pledging support, but I will hold out for the next month to see how the dust settles from these revelations.
it is a superb disservice that this mindset was even vocalized. thank you for bringing awareness.
