Continuing the hyperfixation, here's a small purse I made for my niece! I'm disproportionately proud of having planned ahead to wrangle a functional button-hole, which was not in the pattern.
Also I intended the whole purse to be pink, but I lost yarn-chicken. Hopefully the purple looks intentional.

I made my niece some tiny fingerless gloves/hand-warmers to go with the hat and scarf. They used up nearly all of the remaining yarn (there were moments I doubted I had enough to finish), and I'm so excited to see her wear these now that it's officially autumn!

An extremely imperfect (but I think still charming) first effort at BAG. I didn't do a great job of keeping count of my stitches, so the seam along the side isn't straight, but I think I managed to get back and track and make the handles symmetrical despite this challenge.

Same stitch pattern as the pink scarf, but made with a softer and thinner yarn. Because my dad may not realize it yet, but he needs a new scarf too. ^_^

Finished! Weaving in my ends took aaaaages but I love how this turned out. I'm probably going to veer off into other projects for a while before I face the challenge of attempting a matching hat. Because hats are intimidating. But don't worry, I'll get there. ^_^

For my niece! I'm hoping to also figure out the mysterious process of HAT, so that I can give her a matched set. (Magic circles intimidate me, but I know I can manage them, so wish me luck.) She wants mittens too, but I'm not sure I'm feeling quite that brave yet.

This is what that bright pink magic circle became, in the end. Cursing my way through an extra couple rounds on the circle was worth it, as the finished product is the perfect size for the water bottle I actually wanted to carry in this. No more powering through long walks un-hydrated for me!
A bottle carrier/cozy crocheted out of cotton yarn, in alternating shades of very dark purple and very bright pink. There is no visible sign that it was made by someone who had no idea what they were doing. It's a masterpiece.

A new endeavor that involves figuring out how the hell to make a magic circle. Turns out counting is not my favorite element of crochet, but the finished circle is extremely satisfying.

Here’s where I’m currently at. The edges are not as straight as I’d like, but the mesh pattern is turning out more even than I expected, and it’s scratching something extremely pleasant in my brain.

I've been playing with fountain pen ink samples recently, and holy hell check out the sheen on Diamine Grotto (from last year's Inkvent calendar.)

Holy HELL the sheen on this ink! A friend has been loaning me her favorites from the Diamine inkvent calendar, and this one ("Vibe") is absolutely killing me. Messy, as all sheening inks are, but honestly less so than I expected. Does anyone know if they plan on selling full bottles of this one?
