An interesting side effect to these thrust reversers is that they cause a nasty black streak to appear on the vertical stabilizers, equally iconic:

The top of North-Holland does have it's own dialect though, which is usually called West-Fries (even though West-Frisian is apparently used for the Frisian language as spoken in the Dutch Frisian province.

Don't think there's many native Frisian speakers in the top of North Holland area though, even though a part of it is called West-Friesland.

Or has experienced seagulls? :D
