The only thing I would change for actually singing it is changing “Tesla is on fire“ to “Tesla’s on fire”; at least it was easier for my crappy voice to sing. 😬

I have to admit my first exposure of the word was the old joke:

Teacher: Use “loquacious” in a sentence.

Student: I was walking down the street when a woman bumped into me, so I told her to loquacious going.

#DadJoke

At that point I looked it up (hey, I was *8* at the time)

Once told a customer that a certain network protocol was “hyperloquacious” and they wanted to buy me a drink. 😂

I am SUCH a #WordNerd and I LOVE those kinds of finely turned phrases; lexiconical artistry at its finest.

But then this IS Scalzi. (Performs “we are not worthy” bow)

And it's still the Gulf of Mexico.

I'd say that's a hill to die on, but then you would anyway... as all the hills there are underwater, and breathing is fundamental.

TBF "John" (my "legal" first name) is a perfectly fine name... and I was mercilessly teased with it anyway.

It could be argued that the little darlings are evil geniuses when it comes to finding ways to mock the weird ones, but why hand them a gift like Pubert the Public Pubic? 🤦

For the record John Irving is still alive, presumably well, and living in New Hampshire.

(I was delighted to discover that @penguingoddess.bsky.social has actually READ "The Water Method Man", easily one of the least likely books never to be made into a movie)

TBH I expected him to have died... "Another Roadside Attraction" was published in 1971 after all, and he was already pushing 40 at that point.

I was just shocked that it hadn't bubbled up on my feed at all.

(Rest In Power sir! Jitterbug Perfume FTW!)
