I just fulfilled someone’s request who asked me to read one of my poems through an Instagram DM. I chose one of the shorter ones. Luminous was written for those who have spent years living in fear of judgment.

The Indonesian people are grateful to international media outlets that are willing to report on the demonstrations in Indonesia. This is because even before the protests began, Indonesian officials had already silenced local media to prevent them from covering the events.

Yesterday, in front of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR), people from all walks of life came together in protest: workers, labor unions, online motorcycle drivers, and ordinary citizens.

You were once a broken branch, cast into silence — yet even broken branches bear room for new roots. In time, you will rise again, reaching for the light.
