Also full disclosure, my startup too has an .ai domain name (which is how I learned about this in the first place) therefore I am myself a proud sponsor of Anguilla fish 🥰

I think I just like stories of unplanned little glitches in this big & terrifying system we're in - where the levers of power or scales of justice or something are suddenly flipped & we have get some big wins for the small fish 🐟

Curious what other little glitches are out there... 👀

Idk why I found this so fascinating & funny..

like they were allotted control over the domain in 1990.. they NEVER could've imagined this would happen!! 😅

And yet here we are- a bunch of fad-chasing, profit-hungry AI startups are funding Anguilla's sustainable fisheries.

Even better, here's how they're using the funds:

- paying down debt
- key infrastructure (i.e. the airport)
- renewable energy projects (i.e. sustainable fishery, biodiversity preservation)

🥹 so wholesome!! and smart!

Those most affected by algorithmic biases - women, non-binary, LGBTQIA, BIPOC, & disabled folks - are the ones building the solutions...

yet LESS THAN 2% of VC goes to women and minority-owned startups... it's bullshit and we are tired😮‍💨
