None of the top knee replacement specialists in the PHX area take Medicare Advantage, some don’t even take traditional Medicare, and a couple refuse to take any public or private insurance, period…. Only cash!!

Medicare also has its challenges…. I’m getting ready to have knee replacement surgery on June 19th and I have a great doctor, but I first called for a new patient appt back in Feb, didn’t see him till April and will have waited 2 more months to have the surgery.

Au has public healthcare for all, but all my Aussie friends also buy some kind of private health insurance…. not sure how that works; and a Canadian friend with universal healthcare waited around six months to see a specialist, so it’s not perfect.
