I'm not trying to refute the usage of phones etc., but there is no evidence of it causing, directly or indirectly, autism. Again, none of this would classify autism as a disease, because it isn't.

Well, these are two very different things you're conflating. Is it child outdoor activity, or mother's outdoor activity?

You could make this argument for TV, game consoles, computers. All of which existed long before the increase in diagnosis. The most plausible reason is better diagnostic tools.

This is a testable hypothesis at least. However, again, you've stumbled into correlation/causation problems.

In the same vein perhaps margarine consumption reduced divorce rates as well.

These could then be prevented but not cured. This also suggests autism is not a disease, but something that happens to a person during development.

From the same review: This relationship has also been described for multiple sclerosis [98] and more recently autism, although this relationship is not always reported [99].
This is certainly worth looking into, however this would be a gestational deficiency which would be a syndrome or similar

Correlation is not causation. This is as much evidence that Vitamin D deficiency causes autism as autism causes Vit D deficiency. This "journal" is not peer reviewed, meaning opinions can make it in and look like science. Autism is not a disease.

I'm a research scientist and I am very assertive just to make sure I'm heard. This led to one of my "development" goals this year being: Be less combative. I'm just trying to be heard by the very loud and often dismissive men in the same projects.

I had the same question.
