First message from me: Also, the injury update I know you were waiting for: Skattebo had emergency surgery last night for what turned out to be a dislocated ankle, which sounds like it should be not as bad as a broken one, but actually means he possibly has a bunch of torn ligaments or something, which is scary. Also again I cannot stress enough his foot was pointing the wrong way. But surgery went well and now it's just time to tank the rest of the season for draft picks probably Second message, from Ben: The good news is that you can score cheap tickets! Friend??” Carmela whispered, as Nita regained her balance. “Where did he come from?” “Ireland. There’s this town on the east coast, it’s called Bray—” “No, no, no,” Carmela said. “I meant it in a much more existential way. I was referring to his basic, you know, hotness.” Carmela put her head down by Nita’s. “Is he attached?” she whispered. “In ways it would take me days to describe,” Nita said, “yes.” Carmela’s face fell. “But none of them are those kinds of ways,” Nita said. A smile appeared slowly on Carmela’s face. “Oh, good.” Carmela then strolled back into the dining room in the most casual manner imaginable. Nita shook her head. Did I think things were getting weird around her? We’re about to set a weirdness baseline the likes of which the planet’s never seen. She went after Carmela.

Kit picked up his penny and went after Nita and Fred as they pushed through the poplar hedge again. The blue Mercedes, which had been half in the street and half on the sidewalk, was now neatly parked by the curb. In front of it sat Annie, with her tongue hanging out and a satisfied look on her face. There were teeth marks deep in the car’s front fender. Annie grinned at them as Nita and Kit passed, and then trotted off down the street, probably to “find” something else. "If my dog starts doing things like that,” Kit muttered, “I don’t know how I’m going to explain it to my mother.”
