A game developer in Boulder, CO. I love nice people who aren’t trolls online and apparently my main hobby is now home renovation if the last year is any indication.

Imagine someone made a Superman movie as good as the first of the Richard Donner films. We haven’t seen a superhero move that good since Avengers Endgame.

DC is due for a really good run (there wasn’t anything wrong with the Snyderverse set, but none were truly great).

Realizing you can just substitute things in most recipes will change your life. Not to mention winging simple recipes.

I started years ago screwing around with soup (you can even just add stuff to canned soup), and I’ve never looked back.

Except now I guess.

My god, people on Facebook are just dumb as fuck. I know why, Facebook promotes the dumbest shit it can find, but it’s still sometimes an incredible shock to find that some people are so hopelessly, willfully stupid.

If no one notices your posts on Facebook, good chance you’re reasonably smart.

My desk is a mess, but I managed to not only not kill this plant, but it bloomed this year. Not exactly a miracle, but I’m proud of my ever so slightly green thumb.

Game studios complain that game sales have dropped, and blame everything except how they poisoned the well with lackluster free games and shied away from innovation.

DoomTDA was great and sold well.

Battlefield 6 was great and sold well.

Hell, look at Dispatch.

Focus on game development!

When you’re busy, you want art to relieve a little stress and that’s huge.

But when you’re really struggling, you need art to help you process feelings of failure, regret, and sadness. Thank god for all the authors, musicians, filmmakers, game devs, and anyone else helping folks see themselves.

Among the places where the internet has room for improvement is in showing me ads for a show I want to see, but which is already sold out. I don’t need to see ads for things I can’t buy.

And maybe it’s collecting data on whether to do a second show, but I think the point stands.

I’ve been on about a decade long quest to make myself into someone who cares about the people around me, and who feels the full gamut of human emotions (not just the ones 90s high school culture thought were okay for men).

I think I’ve done it. It’s still a journey, but I’m past a milestone.

I’m watching the Halo TV show, and I hope it’s good. I’ve tempered my expectations, I know it can’t live up to my hopes for I want it to be.

Del Toro’s Frankenstein film on Netflix is a masterpiece.

It’s 11:11 on 11/11.

And earlier today I got to see this. Made for a pretty good day.

I wonder if blood oaths; that thing where you cut your hand open and shake hands with someone else who cut their hand; fell out of favor during the plague.

They’re all over fantasy stories, but I haven’t heard of someone doing it in real life… ever?

Liam Hemsworth is completely passable as Geralt in The Witcher, but I wonder if the missing influence of Cavill has lessened the writing. Cavill seemed to push for Geralt to be kind in unexpected ways, especially when fighting.

Now Geralt just fights. He doesn’t seem to mind killing at all.

It’s so strange how when Republicans govern like children suddenly voters all over the country wonder if they should have voted for a Democrat.

Don’t take your foot off the gas. We gotta absolutely trash the Republican majority in congress if we want any hope of challenging Trump’s idiot chaos.

I’d love to see movie studios have a go at re-releasing a movie, but after completely rewriting the parts that people hated. I don’t think this should happen to a ton of films, but a good example might be the second half of Alien: Romulus. *Perfect* first half. Disappointing second half.

July and August should be Caesar awareness months, and that awareness should be entirely dedicated to how much they suck for making October not the 8th month, November not the 9th month, and December not the 10th month.

They are truly and deeply shitty, if only for this one reason.

Kathryn Bigelow is really a very good director.

There’s an account here called Marxism No Jutsu (or something), and it is run by a stupid person. They’re so prolific (and stupid) that I keep seeing their bullshit.

They’re the first account I blocked on here, and it’s *just* because I don’t like moron lunatics in my feed.

I think it’s funny that the No Kings organizers told everyone to wear yellow, and basically everyone who came was like “who the fuck owns yellow clothes?”

I want Trump out of politics as much as the next guy, but I draw the line at wearing yellow (I still showed up with my flag).

I saw a remodel video where the handyman was using an electronic caulk gun to squeeze out the construction adhesive. I thought, “why spend so much to push out caulk?”

Then I used construction adhesive. I have solid grip strength, and my god does that suck to do with a regular caulk gun.

Sometimes I don’t have a good day, and sometimes I do have a good day. Some days: like today; I *did* a good day. It could have been anything but I gooded at the day hard enough that it stuck.

I was social media stalked by an ex who I was pretty sure had sworn me off. Two things:

1) I know about this because she did it on LinkedIn, which I guess informs people about folks looking at their profile.

2) Even if she hasn’t sworn me off, I’ve *definitely* sworn her off. We cannot be friends.

Democracy dies in the darkness… of Groundhog Day in Gaza! Palestawni Phil definitely saw his shadow, nine more months of Winter Soldier!
behold the bold and brave washington post opinion section (under new management), lol

Karate Kid Legends had a budget of $45 million. That’s peanuts for a movie these days. It only made $60 million total, but that’s really decent for a movie with such a thrifty production.

These inexpensive theatrical releases feel like they’re what’s missing lately. More movies like this please.
